Progress Reports

Research students and their supervisors are required to submit progress reports on the candidates' studies once every six months. One month before the end of the probationary period (see table below), research students and their supervisors should submit reports to the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee via the Departmental Research Postgraduate Committee, for confirmation of candidature, transfer of candidate (MPhil to PhD, and/or between full-time and part-time status) or an extension of the probationary period.

The Graduate School will send out automatic email reminders to research students and their supervisors one month before the report due date. The progress report form can then be completed and submitted online via HKU Portal.
